Pressure, temperature and air humidity are in a constant state of change-often causing problems to electric devices. Consistently, electronic housings, sensors and other devices are affected breakdowns caused by condensation water.
Why condensation water?
Condensation water is created despite and even more through high IP protection degrees. Among others, these provide absolute water tightness to the enclosure.Although they are liquid-tight, they still allow for air interchange -water vapour still can penetrate the housing.
In case of fast temperature changes like wave action or if surroundings are quickly changed and cause pressure differences between the casing´s interior and the surroundnigs, e.g. when entering a tunnel, due to low preeure in the housing damp air is absorbed from the outside. The air condenses and resulting water leads to corrosion, short circuits and breakdown.
VentGLAND® solves the problem
Instead of various ventilation or heating solutions, VentGLAND® offers you cable gland and pressure
compensation in one. The cable gland has an integrated ePTFE membrane which literally lets the casing breathe
and thus equalizes pressure differences. Condensation water is reduced to a minimum while dirt and water still
can not penetrate the housing.
Due to the identical construction and sizes of a standard cable gland, VentGLAND® is easily installed without
any extra mounting work. The cable gland is successfully used in exterior lighting, weather stations or electric sensors
daily and meets with IP 68 and IP 69K.
Your advantages from VentGLAND®
- Condensation water is reduced to a minimum - saving you expensive breakdowns and maintenance work
- You can easily replace your standard cable gland by VentGLAND® and save any other installation work and precious time
- VentGLAND® is part of the WISKA SPRINT cable gland system and so can be combined with a variety of sealing inserts and cup nuts (e.g. flex protection, external strain relief, diverse cable types)
